Chapter 1: Confessions of a Digital Storytelling Teacher: Twenty Revelations About Digital Storytelling in Education.

I read all 20 Revelations discussed by Ohler (2008), and agree with every one of them.Which makes me wonder why author seemed to be unable to apply those same concepts to this rather dry, tedious, dull, and uninteresting book.

For an example I use Revelation #1, I know only one thing for certain about the technologies that await us in the future; we will find ways to tell stories with them. Really? Why then did the author fail to tell me a story while fully utilizing the PDF technology at his disposal.

Instead of telling me, he should have showed me. In my view, the author wrote the write things but entirely missed the opportunity to show me using something a little more interesting that text on a computer screen.

Another example is Revelation #5: Art is the fourth R. Again, really? Some art in this book would have been really nice at perhaps holding my interest. The author attempted to paint plenty of word pictures, but some real ones might have been far more effective.
